Title: Black Panther: Tales of Wakanda
Edited by: Jesse J. Holland
Chosen by: Andres J.
If I had to pick a genre for this book:
Science fiction
Why I picked it:
Because I liked the movie
Brief synopsis (no spoilers!):
This book is based on multiple stories written by a lot of authors, and focuses on T'Challa, Shuri and the Dora Milaje. T'Challa, who is the Black Panther, struggles with leadership problems in Wakanda because he is the king. Shuri, T'Challa's sister, is a scientist and an inventor and helped Wakanda in her own sector. The Dora Milaje are the female warriors that represent Wakanda's culture and also experience trouble in their training and fighting for their country and each of these stories has a unique perspective to look at.
Swoon Factor:
1 - "Totally platonic"
No romance whatsoever—just good vibes, friendships, or action-packed storylines. Romance isn’t even on the radar.
Rating my choice:
5 - "Obsessed!"
This book is EVERYTHING. It’s your new favorite, you’re gushing about it to everyone, and you might even reread it someday!
My take on this book:
I found it pretty interesting. I really liked how it makes you consider different perspectives and see more deeply how other people felt and the struggles they faced. It’s fascinating how this book is composed.
